Milo Stand from Blue Lounge

The Milo stand from Blue Lounge is a neat little gadget that will stand on your desk and let you stick your smartphone to it at the perfect viewing angle so you can watch those movies or podcasts without having to hold your phone.

The neat thing about this is that there are tiny suction cups that grip you phone to hold it in place, allowing you to use it over and over again. If the sticky pads get dirty it is easily cleaned using a piece to tape to take out the dirt.

Vertically there is also room to plug your charger in the bottom!

Firefox 4 and App Tabs!

Firefox Download Button

Firefox 4 has been out for a few weeks now and claims a huge increase in speed. It seems pretty nippy but how it compares to others is really yet to be seen. The first thing I noticed was that the tabs have moved to the top of the page. This can be changed with a simple right click and if your really interested on why they moved them you can see the pretty boring video from the ‘Firefox User Experience Team‘ (Yawn!)

A useful feature of Firefox 4 is ‘App Tabs’ Smaller tabs that stay open on your Facebook, Twitter or Mail App. Check the details here at ‘What are App Tabs

There are alternative ways to add social network tools to your browser, check out this post on lifehacker.

Socialize Chrome Without Switching Browsers (aka, Who Needs RockMelt?)

Fake Tech Support Call Scam

I know of one person locally who called LivelyNet regarding a support call they received apparently from Microsoft or company supposedly representing them, asking them to switch on their computer as they had been requested to make contact to resolve security issues with their PC.

Imagine the surprise when we received a call from them today!

This is a well documented scam and more information can be found on the DigitalToast blog entry that was started in 2009 which now has over 900 comments. I suggest you drop over for a read, listen and watch, since some great people have recorded these conversations and even kept the scam artist tied up for over 45 minutes just to annoy them!

If you receive an unexpected call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft or another support company you have never heard of then it is probably this Scam!
